M. M. Modi College successfully organized 3rd Annual Workshop on Modern Techniques in Biological Sciences
Department of Biological Sciences, M.M.Modi College, Patiala organized 3rd Annual Workshop on Modern Techniques in Biological Sciences from 31st July to 6th August, 2018 for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Sciences. This workshop was focused on various methods and procedures for studying living organisms. The concluding session of the workshop was held on Monday, where around 80 students BSc-I and II (Medical and Biotechnology) were awarded certificates of participation.
Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar congratulated the department of Biological Sciences for organizing such an innovative workshop. He said that in this era of highly sophisticated technology and ‘Big Data’, there are number of research possibilities available. Dean, Biological Sciences, Dr. Ashwani K. Sharma addressed the students and appreciated the broad range of techniques demonstrated during the workshop spread over four modules covering Microbiology, Biochemistry, Instrumentation, Botany and Zoology. He stressed upon the need and importance of practical skills along with hands-on training for competing in the ever-changing job scenario.
Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Head Department of Biotechnology thanked the Principal and the whole team for their support and contribution. He said that such workshops will continue to be held by the Department which will cater to the research needs of the students in basic and applied science fields.
Feedback was given by student representatives, who while thanking the college authorities also showed their willingness to participate in such events in future also.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਬਾਇਓਲਾਜੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੋੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ‘ਜੀਵ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਮਿਤੀ 31 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2018 ਤੋਂ 6 ਅਗਸਤ 2018 ਤੱਕ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਤੀਸਰੀ 7 ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਮਿਤੀ 6 ਅਗਸਤ, 2018 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ.-1 ਅਤੇ 2 (ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਇਓਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ) ਦੇ 80 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਪੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਉੱਚ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਨਵੀਂਆਂ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਬਾਇਓਲਾਜੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਇਓਲਾਜੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੌਖੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਕਿ ਮਾਇਕਰੋਬਾਇਓਲਾਜੀ, ਬਾਇਓਕੈਮਿਸਟਰੀ, ਇੰਸਟਰੂਮੈਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਬਾਟਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੂਆਲੋਜੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਚਾਰ ਮਾਡਿਊਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਿਕ ਪੜਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਮੁਹਾਰਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਵੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਿਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਫੀਡਬੈਕ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਬਾਇਓਟੈਕਨਾਜੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
